Day one of uni today, no classes but that was no deterrent. I got to check out the library and the do the usual admin stuff that comes with the beginning of another semester. What astounded me was how thriving the university was. I have on numerous occasions been confronted with a full cafeteria at Canterbury, but Bath took it to a whole new level. Just getting food was a mission worthy of a medal. What was the most impressive though, was the student union building - it is a real student magnet. Maybe I'm biased because we have nothing like this at home, but it is very cool. Although, I can't help hoping that it settles down a little over the next few weeks, I don't want to battle fellow students every time I need to eat. People en mass aside, I am very excited for this term - bring on the classes tomorrow!
This is a nice outside area for those days when the weather is good ... wait what days??
It is worth a mention that anyone who thinks (on those nice days) that it is a good idea to jump in the lake, face expulsion. I'll be keeping my feet on dry ground.
This is the library, and the main thoroughfare is called the Parade. Bath have considerately named their buildings by the points of the compass, but when you can't see the sun how do you find East?
This isn't the uni, but part of Southgate shopping centre. The pretty lights attracted me - who could resist?
The pretty lights are very beautiful! There is something about winter shopping in brightly lit malls... all warm and snuggy. I love your blog Aimee; keep it coming!
